What is Road Watch?
Road Watch is a great way to do something positive for your local environment. There is no cost and it takes only as much time as you are prepared to give.
Who can be involved?
Any interested individual, service club, school, household, group of residents, businesses or community association.
What do Road Watchers do?
Care for our roadside environment by 'adopting' a section of road & then carrying out activities such as litter collection & planting and maintenance of native vegetation.
Support kits & recognition signs
Groups and individuals adopting a minimum of 500 metres of roadside receive a clean up support kit. (Kit includes caution signs, safety vests, stickers & clean up bags.)
By adopting a minimum of 2km of roadway (for 2 years with a minimum 4 clean ups per year) groups will also be eligible for permanent roadside signs provided by KESAB.
Each Road Watch sign marks a section of roadway that's receiving special care. Signs help to give groups valuable exposure in their local area and highlight the fragile nature of our roadside environment.
Road Watch is a joint initiative between KESAB & Department of Transport Energy & Infrastructure. Currently over 200 South Australian groups & individuals take part in the program.
